Tilt your head back and gently pull the lower eyelid away from the eye to create a space. Squeeze a thin strip of ointment into this space and let go of the eyelid. Gently close the eyes and keep them closed for 1 to 2 minutes to allow the medicine to be absorbed. Wash your hands immediately after using the ointment. For the eye drops, follow the same steps as for the ointment, but instead of squeezing the ointment, drop the solution into the space. After dropping the medicine, let go of the eyelid and gently close the eyes without blinking. Keep the eyes closed and apply pressure to the inner corner of the eye for 1 or 2 minutes to ensure the medicine is absorbed. Remove any excess solution with a clean tissue and wash your hands immediately after using the eye drops.
