For adults with atrophic vaginitis and kraurosis vulvae, the recommended dose is 0.5 grams (g) applied into the vagina once a day. The dose may be adjusted by your doctor as needed. Treatment is usually done in cycles, with 21 days of use followed by a 7-day break without the medicine. For painful sexual intercourse, the recommended dose is 0.5 grams (g) applied into the vagina two times a week, or in cycles with 21 days of use followed by a 7-day break without the medicine. What medications are contraindication with Conjugated Estrogens Vaginal Cream?

This medication is contraindicated in individuals with the following conditions:

  1. Blood clots (e.g., deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism), active or history of
  2. Breast cancer, known or suspected, or a history of
  3. Heart attack, active or history of
  4. Liver disease
  5. Protein C, protein S, or other known blood clotting disorders
  6. Stroke, active or history of
  7. Tumors (estrogen-dependent), known or suspected

Inform your doctor about any other medical conditions you have, including asthma, cancer, diabetes, edema (fluid retention or body swelling), endometriosis, epilepsy (seizures), gallbladder disease, heart disease, hereditary angioedema (swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat), hypercalcemia (high calcium in the blood), hypertension (high blood pressure), hypertriglyceridemia (high triglycerides or fats in the blood), and liver tumors, as they may affect the use of this medication.

How is Conjugated Estrogens Vaginal Cream administered?

This medication is administered by inserting the cream into the vagina using an applicator. It should be used only in the vagina, preferably at bedtime unless otherwise directed by a doctor. To use the cream, wash your hands with soap and water, remove the cap from the tube, and screw the nozzle end of the applicator to the tube. Gently squeeze the tube from the bottom to obtain the correct dose, using the marked stopping points on the applicator. Unscrew the applicator from the tube, insert it deeply into the vagina, and press the plunger downward to its original position. Wash the applicator with mild soap and water after use.
