How is Dabrafenib dosed?

The dosage of dabrafenib depends on the medical condition being treated. For melanoma, non-small cell lung cancer, anaplastic thyroid cancer, solid tumors, and glioma, the recommended oral dosage is as follows:

  • Adults and children weighing 51 kg or more: 150 mg taken twice a day, 12 hours apart. The dose may be adjusted as needed.
  • Children weighing between 38 to 50 kg: 100 mg taken twice a day, 12 hours apart. The dose may be adjusted as needed.
  • Children weighing between 26 to 37 kg: 75 mg taken twice a day, 12 hours apart. The dose may be adjusted as needed.
  • Children weighing less than 26 kg: Tablet for suspension is recommended. For children 1 year of age and older, the dose of the tablet for suspension is based on body weight and must be determined by a doctor.

How is Dabrafenib administered?

  2. Tablet for suspension: Add the recommended amount of water to a cup, and stir the mixture gently with the handle of a teaspoon until the tablets break apart. Wait for 3 minutes or more until the tablets have broken up. The liquid should be cloudy white but may contain small pieces. Swallow the mixture within 30 minutes after preparing. If 30 minutes have passed, discard the mixture.
