What medications are contraindication with Diazepam Nasal Spray?
Diazepam nasal spray should not be used with alcohol or other medicines that can affect the central nervous system (CNS) as it may worsen the side effects of diazepam. Examples of medicines that affect the CNS include antihistamines, sedatives, tranquilizers, prescription pain medicine, medicine for depression or anxiety, muscle relaxants, and anesthetics. Consult with your healthcare professional before combining diazepam with any other medications.
How is Diazepam Nasal Spray administered?
Diazepam nasal spray is administered by inserting the tip of the nozzle into the nostril and pressing the bottom of the plunger firmly with the thumb. The device should not be opened before use and should not be used if it looks damaged. The spray should only be used inside the nose, avoiding the eyes and skin. After administration, the patient should be closely monitored for at least an hour and kept on their side with loose clothing.
