What medications are contraindication with Epinephrine Inhalation Route?

Epinephrine inhalation route is contraindicated with the following medications: dihydroergotamine, isocarboxazid, linezolid, phenelzine, and tranylcypromine. It is usually not recommended to use epinephrine inhalation with these medications. However, your doctor may prescribe them together in some cases and adjust the dose or frequency of the medications accordingly. How is Epinephrine Inhalation Route administered?

Epinephrine inhalation route is administered through a metered-dose inhaler (MDI) or an aerosol inhaler. To use the inhaler, shake it and test spray into the air away from your face four separate times. Shake and spray into the air once each time you take a dose. Remove the cap and check the mouthpiece for cleanliness. Place the mouthpiece just in front of your mouth with the canister upright, open your mouth, and breathe in slowly and deeply while firmly pressing down on the top of the canister once. Hold your breath for as long as possible.
