How is Ethinyl Estradiol and Etonogestrel Vaginal Route administered?
Ethinyl Estradiol and Etonogestrel (Vaginal Route) is administered through a flexible birth control vaginal ring that contains two types of hormones, etonogestrel and ethinyl estradiol. The ring is inserted into the vagina and left in place for three weeks, then removed for one week to allow for menstruation. During the three weeks the ring is in place, it releases hormones that prevent pregnancy by stopping a woman's egg from fully developing each month.
